He is 43 years old. His average in the German Bundesliga is, of course, positive. His club, the TTC Fulda Maberzell, he led to the play-off round. This season more than 10.000 people came to watch his matches.
Jan-Ove Waldner, the best table tennis player of all time, still attracts spectators. More than this he is still a very good player, who on one of those days, during one of those hours, again and again, revealed his genius, demonstrating his unique feeling for the ball, which made him a living legend world-wide.
“I don’t practice as much as I used to do”, he says frankly. “This means my form varies a bit from time to time. Sometimes I am good, then, I am not so good.”
He has re-occurring back problems. 40 years as a high performance athlete take their toll. This is why it is even more important for him that he can rely on his equipment.
